Freyja Gallery - Freyja (Almost)

Name : Freyja or Ester?
Circa :
Type : Fine Art
Artist :
Medium : Oil
Description : The medeival tale of Freyja described her as a spring goddess. After finding her husband Od, she returned in such bliss that wherever her foot fell upon the frozen ground, the snow melted and plants sprung upward and bloomed. In other tales, the same was said for the goddess named Ester (sometimes spelled Ostara). Since this painting does not show the goddess wearing Brisingamen, I cannot say this is Freyja. It may not even be Ester deliberately, but instead a generic Spring Goddess or Mother Nature that matches Ester closely.
